IL NET presents -
Understanding and Accommodating Multiple Chemical Sensitivity

Multiple chemical sensitivity may affect as much as 33% of the population but still remains a misunderstood and often overlooked disability. Although MCS is covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act, people with this disability are denied access every day because of the common use of chemicals in our everyday world. Symptoms can range from relatively mild to life-threatening and require various degrees of lifestyle and environmental changes. This presents some unusual challenges for independent living organizations in trying to be totally inclusive and accessible. This teleconference will give you the facts to understand this disability and how to accommodate it.

Why should one refrain from wearing scented products to meetings?

Because synthetic scents contribute to air pollution and are harmful to people living with respiratory disabilities, migraines and other headaches, and chemical injury.
